Inner Practice: Tolerance is Strength
Tolerance is virtue.
Tolerance is also the highest practice.
Endless transgressions arise from a single word: Anger.
Boundless merits also come from a single word: Tolerance.
A person’s morality, learning and cultivation can be recognized by the amount of grievances which one can tolerate, and how much patience one has. If we cannot even tolerate aggrievement or injustice now, how will we be able to compromise out of consideration for the general interest in the future?
Only by learning to accept injustice can we learn to take on hardship and difficult matters. When we are able to tolerate humiliation, aggrievement, slander and criticism while keeping one’s composure, without defending oneself in any way, time will naturally bring us justice.
If we wish to be successful and fortunate, realize that the more injustice, harm, or slander you face, the more our strengths and blessings will grow. Eventually we will be well accomplished.
