Inner Practice: Four Mantras of True Love - Third Mantra

In the first mantra of true love, we bring ourselves to offer our true presence first.

In the second mantra, we recognize the presence of the other person.

In the third mantra, we practice and become so mindful that we are able to notice the person we love suffers.

Third mantra:

“Darling, I know you suffer. That is why I am here for you.”

We all go through the grills and pains of life everyday. Even when our lives appear on the outside to be serene and smooth sailing, we still suffer physical, mental, emotional pains on the inside that few can notice.

If we are in pain and the whole world takes no notice, we suffer.

If we are in pain and the person we love is not aware of our pain or ignores us, we suffer even more.

So taking on the role of the person who recognizes the pains of our loved one, what we can do right away even before we can do anything to help is to offer our wholehearted presence and say the mantra with full mindfulness.

As a person, your presence is already a miracle. Your understanding of your loved one’s pains is a rainbow to the miracle. And this is something we can all offer immediately. Without the need for preparation, analysis or merchandise to bring it out. Just mindfulness.

Really.

Try to be there.

For yourself.

For life.

For the people you love.

Recognize the presence of those who live in the same place as you and try to be there when any of them is suffering.

Because your presence is so precious.

For the person.

For the moment.
