Men’s Health Series: Masturbation – Aye or Nay?

We have come to topics that people often want to know but too shy to ask or don’t know who or where to ask.

Masturbation is the stimulation of the genitals with the hand for sexual pleasure. It can of course apply to both men and women. However I have geared this blog post to our male counterparts as many just do not understand the important reason behind abstinence of such action. Which in this blog post hopefully it can bring some light to all, if not some.

In males especially, the act of masturbating usually becomes addictive to a state where the frequency can be as high as at least once a day. This is especially so as the age retrogrades to the younger spectrum. Some argue that just like thirsty people who want to drink water and hungry people that want to eat, when people have desires, they need to release them.  As if they have found a shortcut to happiness, masturbation is seen in some cases as a stress-reliever.

The harmful effects of masturbation are not only on the physical, but mental and emotional level for men’s health.

From Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) point of view

Physical damage from Masturbation

In TCM, sexual health is highly related to the Kidney and the essence it holds. According to the ancient theory, kidney essence is fundamental to growth and development, reproduction, metabolic function, and life itself. This lends special significance to conserving ejaculations. Because under this theory, masturbation burns through kidney essence, leading to kidney deficiencies and a host of other disorders such as forgetfulness, sleep disruptions, hair loss, acne, back pain and even have detrimental effects on life span.

As one old saying puts it, “A drop of sperm is worth 10 drops of blood”.

So you can imagine how weakened one’s health can be with simply the act of masturbation and expending the semen lightly.

Mental damage from Masturbation

Masturbation-linked kidney depletion leads not just to physical maladies, but also to mental and psychological problems such as sluggishness, insomnia, introversion, negativity, cowardice, and social phobias.

Cure to Masturbation

The cure to masturbation is not simply a physical remedy and a matter of not masturbating but also a complete change to one’s lifestyle. Because the simple act of masturbation has deeper connotations to how one is leading his or her life. A person who has the habit of masturbation is bound to have other bad habits. Masturbation and other bad habits such as are symbiotic and inextricably linked.

So are you ready to rebuild your life?
